HEY WHAT’S UP, DOODS.
Yeah… we’re been quiet for a while. You’re used to that now, right? We slap you in the face with an ass-ton of news and shows and music only to disappear for months on end.
Well, we’re back. Again. For now.
Here’s what’s good:
ALBUMB TOO
As of now, Dig a Hole has yet to be released. After listening to it quite a bit, we’ve felt the need to flesh out the songs a bit more and add a couple more vocal tracks to the album. Due to some serious time restraints during the recording, it’s safe the say that things could have been a little rushed. Because I feel so strongly about these songs, I don’t want to feel like I half-assed this album just so we could release it ASAP. That said, the record will be released some time within the next few months, I assure you.
COMPILATION!
Bad-ass punk rock zine, The Waste, included us in their summer compilation CD, We’re All Wasted! Go to their site for details or come to one of our gigs to get yours! As of now, that CD is the only disc that you can hold in your hands that contains a brand new recording of ours, “New Year (Lamb Mix)”! It also contains 15 other fucking GREAT punk bands!
BRANDONING IS BACK TO KILL YOU
Yes sir, our good friend Brandon Kleiber is back as my writing and sexual partner! YES! Expect some great things in the very near future.
OUR FIRST ROCK SHOW IN MONTHS!
Ever since I got sick, the band went from the most serious project in our lives to straight-up broken. While things probably won’t ever go back to the way they were, the time apart has given me a new outlook on how I write and create music and most importantly, work with my bandmates. To celebrate this, we’re going to rock the face off of Maxwell’s in Hoboken this Friday. If you can make it, we’ll see you there. It will most certainly be a great a time.
Take care, and be well!

just got back from the show tonight at automata chino. i think we did the best we could to try and sound like a two piece garage rock band. but seriously, we need a bass player. IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW PLAY THE BASS… come on over. we’ve got a spot for you
the show was fun. i got into a fight with some drunk dude. he was talking shit about my colitis-ridden figure so i told him to go fuck himself. he tried to apologize, but i wouldn’t accept and continued to tell him to go fuck himself and back the fuck up or i was going to fucking hit him. oh, how i wish he didn’t back up. eric and i would have killed the dude. oooo i’m so fucking angry. i know. he’s just a drunk dude. shouldn’t let it bother me. but this dude was too fucking much. drunk or not, who the fuck are you to come and insult me after a fucking set? fuck you. and if you’re reading this, i hope you die.
moral of this story: don’t talk shit about my colitis. or total.
UPDATE.
WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT BIG FOOT?
~sick boy

AYO
WE NEED SOME PLAYAZ. GUITARZ. BASSZ. KEYZ. YOU NAME ITZ.
We’re looking for some people to come rehearse and play some shows with us. It’ll be fun! We rehearse on Monday or Wednesday at Blackbird Studios in Parsippany, NJ. Send me an email, comment, or phone call if you’re interested! And just think, you’ll be getting an advance copy of our new album that’s coming out this summer
That’s right! “Dig a Hole”, our second record, is planned to be released sometime this summer. We just need the funds to get it mixed, mastered, and pressed. I’ll say this much about it: For the first time ever, I am 100% happy with a recording of ours. It is really, really good and quite a departure from the chaos of “Capt. John”. To some that might be a bad thing, but this is a record I had to make. It’s honest and personal and sad and I truly wouldn’t change a thing about it. It perfectly captures my feelings about this crazy band and it’s numerous members and break-ups and I think if you’ve been following us, you’re gonna love this record. Even if you haven’t, you’ll still love it. Because it’s great. And I honestly never thought I’d ever say that about a St. Sat B album. I am my harshest critic. Ask anyone who knows me.
So if you missed the previews on MySpace, you’ll hear the record soon. Or just join the band for a while. For now, expect a behind the scenes video of the recording process to put up on here and our YouTube channel real soon. We’re just trying to move it from the tape to a digital medium so we could post it. The footage is pretty cool. I’ll be posting a blog about the recording process sometime soon as well. We seriously had the time of our lives and we were able to do things in house we were at that we could never do in a real studio (without thousands and thousands of dollars). But we’ll talk about that later. For now, check out the pictures on our MySpace.
One more thing, Jenn and I are going to be planning the new, remodeled stsatb.com tonight so keep an eye out for that!
So Long!

Hooray! They actually like us!
ST. SAT B - Captain John Braves the Mighty Raritan! (http://stsatb.com) Hey you? Yeah, you, pal. Ya wanna hear something fresh and different? Something novel and imaginative? Something that radically deviates from the norm and boldly treads its own gloriously idiosyncratic path towards pure sonic bliss and invention? Well, then this here be just the album for you. From the quivery vocals to the wonky, yet tuneful arrangements to the alternately mellow and subdued or more manic and exciting songs, there’s nothing remotely trite, mundane, or straight-down-the-line formulaic about the often imaginative and always invigorating music contained herein. For those with a taste for the quirky and distinctive, this album will most certainly fit that particular bill.

You can buy Captain John… from our MySpace or our website as well as iTunes, Amazon, and Interpunk!

WHY HELLO THERE!
It certainly has been a while. I sincerely apologize for the lack of updates. I’ve been pretty distracted, but things seem to be slowly returning back to normal. So here’s some noose:
ONE.
St. Sat B and Mr. Brandon Kleiber have decided to part ways. It’s very sad, but after three years of rocking and rolling, we have agreed to move on. We wish him the best and will miss him terribly.
TWO.
Eric and I are going into the wonderful Lakehouse Studio in the mountains of Pennsylvannia for the next five to record our new record. We hope to have songs available by next week.
THREE.
We are actively searching for a new bass player in the Northern/Central New Jersey area. Drop us a line
FOUR.
I’m going to live!
FIVE.
More news coming soon. Take care!

Hello,
Thanks you to everyone who called and emailed and commented with their concern. I appreciate it
It looks like I have something called Ulcerative Colitis. It’s a chronic disease of the large intestine. It kind of sucks, but I’ll live. I just need to make some minor life style changes. I’m still bed-ridden, but I’m going for more tests on Tuesday. Maybe they’re start me on some of the crazy medications and steroids used to control this disease. I’m looking for natural way out. Either way, come out Friday to Espresso Joe’s and say hi. Thank you

Hello everyone,
I’ve been fighting with a pretty nasty stomach infection for the past couple of weeks. I finally went to the hospital on Monday and after a 10 hour stay, I was told I had a minor infection in my intestines and I should be fine with antibiotics by the morning. Sadly, I wasn’t so lucky and wound up getting worse. I went to the clinic this morning, and the doctor told me I may have something more serious and I would need a colonoscopy to diagnose me for sure. I don’t have insurance, so every person I called to make an appointment turned me away. So tonight I have to admit myself to the hospital and hope that they give me emergency treatment so I can start getting better. Needless to say, I may be there for awhile so I can’t play the show Sunday at The Trash Bar. I’m sure I’ll be better for Espresso Joe’s next Friday, though, so please come and hang out then.
OK, wish me luck
Take care

To everyone who came out to our shows this weekend! What an awesome two days it was. Congratulations to Sonny and Ed for 5 years of Espresso Joe’s. They have been our best friends in the music scene since the beginning and we love them very, very much. Also, thanks go out to The Brixton Riot for letting us play with them at Maxwell’s and to Lieder for allowing them to allow us to play. Thank you to The Campbell Apartment for rocking.
If you attend Monmouth University, come out to the Battle of The Band this Wednesday. The show is for students and their guests only. We open up the show. From there, we move up the street to The Brighton Bar on Friday with the great HRNY WRMS.
Take care everyone! See you soon!

Last night (February 19th, 2009) we were played on The Dusty Show on the coolest radio station around, WFMU!
Check the above like for the playlist. An edited version of “Fireman’s Fair” plays at about 11 minutes in. The Dusty Show is a really, really cool show so listen in Thursdays at 6pm or subscribe to the podcast (here’s the iTunes link).
About “The Dusty Show” with Clay Pigeon:
America’s last cassette-based radio show features street interviews, masterful byte insertions, caustic recurring characters and obscure vinyl exhumations. Careens wildly from compelling relevance to delightful uselessness without warning.
See you guys at Maxwell’s! February 27th! Friday! BAM!
